Heart Foundation (IHF) Guidelines
Aim: To provide responding personnel with the knowledge and skill to recognise a cardiac arrest, perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrilator (AED).
Training Objectives: On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Recognise Cardiac Arrest
- Perform CPR
- Use an AED
- Recognise Choking and Treatment
- Know the steps to take to assist a choking victim
Course Syllabus:
- Scene Assessment
- CPR
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Adults & Children
- Use of Infection Barrier Devices
- Choking
- AED
- Infant CPR included on request for free
Course Duration:
½ Day
Certification:
All successful candidates will be certified in CPR and AED through the Irish Heart Foundation (IHF). Certification is valid for 2 years from date of issue, thereafter subject to re-certification.
