Dust and Noise Assessments
With the introduction of the new Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Control of Noise at Work) Regulations, 2006 all companies that have their employees working in environments of excessive noise must conduct work place noise assessments.
Section 5 of the Act:- Determination and Risk Assessment, states;
“…where employees are liable to be exposed to noise at work above a lower exposure action level, an employer shall, in consultation with his or her employees or representatives, or both, make a suitable and appropriate assessment of the risk arising from such exposure.
In carrying out the risk assessment an employer shall, if necessary, measure the levels of noise to which his or her employees are exposed.”
